Thai,
Wherever you might be.
Last night you transcended from a frail old body unable to support a heart as big as the world. I expect that your spirit has found a home in a young puppy and are bringing love and affection to another family.

You were a constant friend for over twenty years, providing love, affection and understanding without reservation for all that time, over three continents, twenty five countries and five homes. You shared over fifteen thousand kilometers of volksmarching with us, more people recognized you than they did us. We will always have images of you sharing wurst and ice cream cones with children who had no fear of you.
The transcendence fittingly took place while we were on a trip; in familiar surroundings with the two of us present and in Mimi's arms. It was fast, without pain, leaving behind only images of how wonderful it was that we were able to share so many years together. I will hold dearly those moments earlier in the day when you made me aware of your presence with warm tongue and cold nose; and your final meal comprised of BBQ that you begged for.
You will be missed dearly; you will always remain in our thoughts. May you never be hungry, may your water always be cool; may your tummy and ears receive all the rubbing that you deserve and may your trails be filled with great sniffing.
