YR886 - 10km Walk

Start point: Cedarville Grocery, 301-579-6461, 11800 Cedarville Rd. From Washington Beltway (I-495/(-95) take exit 7, Route 5 South. Drive 12 miles. Turn left onto Cedarville Road. Drive approximately 4.1 miles. Just after crossing the railroad tracks, the start will be on the left at the corner of Ashbox Road. Event Info: Daily, Dawn to Dusk, closed Mon - Sat 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sun 8 a.m to 2 p.m. Open 1/2 day (am) on Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day. Closed New Year's, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Call if in doubt. You register at the grocery store and then drive to the start point of the walk. There is a $2.00 per car entrance fee. Preregistration is available for both events. Instructions available at http://members.aol.com/wdcavc/ YR886 is rated 1+. This trail has been designed to provide a paved trail for inclement weather and who want to be near the woods. The trail is mostly hardtop. YR885 is rated 2 and is mostly on natural surfaces and will be more difficult after heavy rains. Neither trail is suitable for strollers or wheelchairs. Pets are allowed on leash. Start Point has great sandwiches - just what is needed after doing hikes.
